: Trisoralen causes your skin to be highly photo-sensitive. It can cause extreme burns and heat rashes if the exposure to uv is prolonged. Careful planning is needed to use this drug properly. Follow the directions in the insert carefully as it usually has a table for uv exposure.
You have to be careful with this stuff, especially if you have fair skin. This stuff does work wonders, though. The time limit on use is 14 days. In fact, you will never get a prescription filled for more than 28 tabs(2 per day 2 hrs. before uv exposure). I wouldn't use it more than a couple times a year, unless you have vitiglio. There is also a plant chemical called furocoumarin that you need to avoid while using this drug, as it will make you burn faster. This chemical is found in limes, parsley, mustard, carrots, and celery. If you are getting a doctor to write a script for this (which isn't too hard to do), wait till you see the price. Ask if you can use the generic version of this drug, called trioxsalen. I bet you will have to have a pharmacy order either one, as they are rarely stocked.
Definitely follow the instructions to a T.
