: : : : : Lil Rob, I hate to break this to you and I know you have real world experience, but saying albuterol is more "potent" than ephedrine is not true. And its not why ephedrine is OTC. Ephedrine at under 50 mg per single dose unit is OTC while over this threshold is RX. The drug delivery of albuterol (inhaler) makes it very powerful in terms of effects (rapid onset). With increased dosing (higher than recommended) beta adrenergic activity crosses from selectivity to B2 over to B1 and possibly alpha adrenergic receptors. Ephedrine is non selective in its activity acting on all adrenergic receptors making it much more dangerous. Currently, FDA and DEA are looking at taking all OTC ephedrine off the shelves and making it RX as well as scheduled due to adverse effects even death. It is even scheduled at level 3 in a couple of states. Certain limitations apply here though to be considered in this class. If you were to take ephedrine by inhalation at high doses it would do more than give you more than tachycardia and a pissed off mood.
: : : : I hate to break this to you but albuterol does not only come in an inhaler ( proventil , ventolin , ect. ) . It
: : : : also comes in pill form ( volmax ) which is a 5mg or 10mg time released pill . If you broke a 5mg volmax in half
: : : : ( which I dont recommend ) You would be sure thats its 10X as potent as ephedrine . And the most potent form ( which
: : : : I must take from time to time, is nebulized albuterol sulfate which only delivers 2.5mg of albuterol directly into
: : : : the bloodstream . Its got all the kick of crack without the euphoria ( i.e. the pissy mood ) . I may be new to AS
: : : : but I know my asthma drugs ( since I was a lab rat for most of them growing up ). Any asthmatic thats had a nebulizer
: : : : treatment will tell you its so . Personally I think albuterol sucks , I wish I didnt have to take it . But , for me,
: : : : its the best of alot of evils . But ,if to add a couple of lbs to your bench press or 1% of BF loss and dont mind shakes
: : : : , facial ticks , getting real mad oh and what about those
: : : : long sleepless nights . Go for it.
: : : : Stay Strong
: : : : Lil Rob
: : : I think any of you guys that use albuterol who don't have asthma suck. That medication is meant for asthmatics and it is very potent. It can cause high blood pressure among other things. I know of a case where someone OD'd on it and died from cardiac arrest. I'll trade my entire albuterol inhaler and in the future if any of you idiots will take my asthma, too.
: : You tell him , Id trade too. Have you ever used AS , and how did it effect your asthma ?
: : Still Strong ( but sometimes wheezing ( or turning blue ))
: : Lil Rob
: Lil Rob,
: I have to fight hard to keep 200 pounds on my 6-foot frame, so my doctor has prescribed me Oxandrin (Anavar) at times to combat weight loss, particularly during my frequent bouts with bronchitis and asthma. Oxandrin is very safe and it works for me. Normally, I would shed 10-12 pounds in a month due to bronchitis but just 5-10 mg of Oxandrin counteracts that. Some of the stuff I read on this bulletin board is frightening. I wouldn't want to take steroids except under a doctor's supervision.
: Still strong, too, despite the asthma!
