This info was taken off of http://www.hcrc.org/faqs/b/boron.html
Boron is a trace element that influences calcium and magnesium metabolism. The Boron Stero Complex ads claim that it increases serum testosterone levels, thereby increasing muscle growth and strength.
These claims are based on a US Dept of Agriculture study which showed that boron supplementation increased testosterone levels in post-menopausal women! The level of normal male testosterone is about 10 times that observed in the US Dept of Agriculture study. In fact, one study has cited evidence that boron may actually reduce the body's production of testosterone.
Boron has NO EFFECT on testosterone levels, lean body mass, or strength. Improvement people see when taking boron occurrs because of hard training. In addition, the power of the belief that the product helps can inspire athletes to greater performance.
Because the FDA is prohibited from regulating dietary supplements such as this product, Boron Stero Complex has not been evaluated for safety or effectiveness. Use of the product is not recommended.
