: : A while back this pencil neck geek computer whizbanger told me that deleted files
: : (programs, spreadsheets, WP documents) weren't really deleted as in gone. The space
: : they occupied was now available for any thing new but if nothing new was written over
: : it, a good computer guy could restore them. Is it the same with deleted e-mail?
: : Probably not a concern for the average user, but for source and list guys in the biz,
: : could this be a problem if they really wanted to take your customers and friends down?
: : Hope this isn't a stupid question- just wondering.

: Yes you should be concernd! If you delete and need to recover data, ANY data, go to the
: DOS prompt and type undelete. There you will see ALL of your previously "deleted" files with
: a listing of how "intact" the files are (excellent, poor etc). If you e-mail messages are excellent
: then recovery is no problem. What you need is Norton Utiliites to Wipe disk. This is what the Gov. uses
: to completely remove any trace of a file. I know I've been there!!!
I am concerned about making sure that the latest
raunchy edition of the cat man gassete story about
"cattle ranchers using cow pokes" gets truly gone
but you other guys with lists and e-mail friends
that discuss roids better take a look at this.
