Sterilizing Suspension

I know that to sterilize a solution, you can use a micropore filter, syring filter, etc, but
what about sterilizing say...test suspension?
But I know that a filter sterilization method will filter the test out as well.
Heat perhaps? Will that decompose the test?
Any other ideas?
