Animal-
I swear I didn't mean to laugh at your account of the accident because it MUST have hurt like hell. But shit man, the way you describe things is too fuckin' funny. I can envision the whole nasty scene coming down! AAAUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!! That other guy will hopefully never enter a race you're also entered in...I wouldn't want to be in his shoes. Anyway, I have been using TIME for as long as they've been around and haven't had any significant problems (they gave me some pedals and shoes before RAAM '88 and I've been using them ever since...when stuff is free I usually have to go for it based on my financial situation!). But, I have heard some people have had problems with them. I had tendonitis problems which I fixed due to getting some orthotics but other than that have had no problems with TIME. Maybe it's because you really are a fucking animal and are torqueing the shit out of that frame and all the components. See, old fucks like me go for these long, "leisurely" rides like RAAM because: #1 We're to old to react to the intensity of crits anymore, and #2 we don't want to see monsters like you bearing down on us!! In RAAM, we're happy to see ANYONE who's riding a bike...after Day Two everyone is so spread out it can be a loooooong time before you see anyone (like another rider) that can validate why the fuck you're out here in the first place.
Seriously, do give the GS and CSA a shot. It won't be a quick fix but it will help in the long run. I mentioned the bromelain because it helped me with my tendonitis. Twinlab makes it in capsules "Mega Bromelain" which is (I think) 1000mg each. 90 caps will run around $20.00 but you can certainly find it cheaper I'm sure. Get well and go and kick some ass this season.
