Arnold Schwarzenegger finally called it quits with his political career after serving as the Governor of California. And the good news is that he'll go back into acting, with an appearance in the sequel to The Expendables as the likely choice for his next movie.
Schwarzenegger made a cameo in the first Expendables movie when he and Sylvester Stallone met with Bruce Willis to discuss a mercenary job; Schwarzenegger declined the job, thus giving it to Stallone's team. Assuming Arnold does in fact take part in the sequel, it's very likely that he'll have a much bigger part in this film.
I'm excited to see what kind of roles Schwarzenegger takes now that he doesn't exactly have the same bodybuilding physique that he had in Conan, Pumping Iron and Hercules in New York. He's certainly got a good acting background, so it's not like he's relegated to playing an action hero anymore.
Of course, I'd like to see a dedication to bodybuilding again like Stallone still has at the age of 65. Imagine Schwarzenegger regaining even some of the muscle that he used to have when he won Mr. Olympia 6 times in a row. And what if Schwarzenegger was to make a foray into the Masters Division or something? It would light the bodybuilding world up again!
Sure I'm dreaming, but it's still fun to think about.
