Stumbling around for any high road to take, Bush denounced steroid use by sports athletes in his State of the Union speech last week. Do we need a President for that? As John Stewart said, why not come out against instant replay while you\'re at it?
The Anabolic Steroids Control Act of 1990 became law on November 29, 1990, when the first President Bush signed the Omnibus Crime Control Bill. The law applies in every Federal court across the country. It places steroids in the same legal class - Schedule III -- as amphetamines, methamphetamines, opium and morphine. In a nutshell, steroids in the same category as heroin and cocaine.
The text from the speech follows -- and you can take the following Poll on the Elite Fitness Discussion Boards:

- I was a Bush supporter, but changed my mind about him after his comments on steroids in his State of the Union speech.
- I was a Bush supporter, and I am still a Bush supporter after his comments on steroids in his State of the Union speech.
- I was not a Bush supporter, but I became a Bush supporter after his State of the Union speech.
- I was not a Bush supporter and I am still not a Bush supporter.
Bush\'s Text:
"To help children make right choices, they need good examples. Athletics play such an important role in our society, but, unfortunately, some in professional sports are not setting much of an example. The use of performance-enhancing drugs like steroids in baseball, football, and other sports is dangerous, and it sends the wrong message - that there are shortcuts to accomplishment, and that performance is more important than character. So tonight I call on team owners, union representatives, coaches, and players to take the lead, to send the right signal, to get tough, and to get rid of steroids now."
REHYDRATION: THE SECRET OF BIG BLAST.
Water makes up 70% of the human body. It is the essential nutrient for the body to survive. Water helps transports all nutrients such as, amino acids, from the food that you eat or the protein that you drink, to your muscles and organs in your body. Ask any professional trainer, athlete, fitness author etc., and they will tell you that water is just as important as protein if you want to grow muscle. This leads me to the topic of rehydration. Rehydration means "restore fluids." If you are dehydrated at any point in the day you can be sure that you are going to be catabolic, and that is bad news if you’re trying to grow muscle. If you\'re a smart bodybuilder, you want be drinking at least a gallon of water a day to make sure that you are constantly rehydrating yourself. This is important to avoid catabolism and to help your body feed your muscles with important nutrients such as amino acids, sodium, calcium, and other minerals.
Besides water, you can also use carbohydrate drinks to rehydrate your body. Obvious and well-known drinks like Gatorade have been proven to rehydrate the body more efficiently than straight up water. Researchers and scientists have come to the conclusion that by using carbohydrates you can improve and speed up how the body replenishes itself. For example, the common technique of 50 grams or higher of dextrose (high GI carb) with 50 grams of protein is superior to avoid catabolism compared to water alone. Pretty obvious!
This leads me to share with you the "SECRET" ingredient in ProteinFactory.com’s BIG BLAST. In fact, this ingredient is found ONLY in BIG BLAST. The secret ingredient is hydrolyzed rice syrup (HRS). HRS is the most POTENT ingredient available today to rehydrate the body. Why, you ask? HRS was actually developed in collaboration with world-leading medical researchers. This long-chain carbohydrate, found in Big Blast provides significant performance advantages over standard carbohydrates.
Now you might be asking yourself, why can\'t I just use dextrose or maltodextrin? Too bad you can’t! You see the rehydration quality of a carbohydrate is measured by its OSMOLALITY. Dextrose and maltodextrin have osmolality measurements of 350, whereas HRS has a measurement of <235! That is almost 70% better than dextrose, glucose or maltodextrin. By using BIG BLAST you’re rehydrating your body with HRS and staying away from catabolism -- or muscle breakdown.
Basically, what all this means is that when you supplement with HRS in ProteinFactory.com\'s BIG BLAST, your muscle tissue absorbs more fluids and nutrients -- and grows! And this growth occurs without the subcutaneous water retention that lies under the skin and blurs definition. Instead, HRS will transport all the amino and growth agents deep into your hard training muscle fibers instantly.
BIG BLAST really is the ultimate growth drink -- containing protein, creatine, AKG, and now REHYDRATION -- its all in the BIG BLAST.
