With the NFL lockout still in effect, there is no steroid testing in place. And with no testing, the NFL has become the Wild West where players are able to juice without worry. And as the lockout drags on, many experts contend that players will be able to run through full steroid cycles, and come back better than ever!
Just like many NFL fans, I can’t get enough of the bone-jarring hits and thrilling touchdowns featured every Sunday. Unfortunately, all of this is in jeopardy as the owners and players squabble over millions of dollars.
And it’s hard to feel sorry for either side during this lockout because the owners have seen the value of their teams increase over 11 times since the late 90’s, while the average player’s salary has risen over five times to $1 million in the same amount of time. And I don’t think I need to tell you that for most people, $1 million means years spent working a tedious job, driving a 2003 Dodge Caravan, being married to a fat wife, having four kids, and celebrating the one night a week you can get drunk enough to suppress it all. So neither side will get any sympathy here or elsewhere.
But even as both sides continue fighting for money to put towards their mansion add-ons, an interesting side story is starting to develop. Currently, there is no steroid testing in place, so players are free to juice without worrying about some creepy doctor coming around to watch them take a urine sample. What’s more is that some players are hiring new doctors and personal trainers during the lockout, which presents the perfect time to go on professionally-designed cycles.
Another thing to keep in mind with all of this is that NFL training camps don’t open until late July. Seeing as how the lockout started in mid-March, and we’re now towards the end of spring, players have already had over two months to juice; furthermore, they’ll have an additional two months to cycle anabolic steroids before training camp. And since most cycles take between 8-12 months to finish, this is plenty of time to keep using steroids until the lockout has been lifted and testing is implemented again.
Now that we’ve established how many players have an excellent opportunity to complete an entire cycle during the test-free lockout, I’d like to mention that I asked some of the EliteFitness.com members what they would include for the perfect NFL player steroid cycle. It was a lot of fun reading through the many responses I got, and there was plenty of useful cycling information contained in the posts too.
“power36” had quite a bit to say about the perfect NFL steroid cycle as he wrote, “test prop, var orals, GH if they aren’t already on it and the league cant test for it right? I’m not the anabolic steroids guru you guys are, but I can tell you this from knowing plenty of ex NFL guys and current pro athletes... unlike us mere mortals, they do not struggle putting on mass....they do not need to juice to get bigger, or improve strength too much.”
He also had some solid thoughts on what NFL players should steer clear of when they’re juicing during the lockout as he typed, “deca or any nandrolone is a big no no... in the system way too long... and unless they get pharm grade gear, they need to be ultra cautious about any injectable... I would be hesitant with even tren, if you take an UG lab that has something thats NOT supposed to be in it, they are ed if its something like nandrolone that stays in the system longer.”
“Stevesmi” believes that a lot of what should go into an NFL steroid cycle just depends on the position a person plays. He expressed this by writing, “totally depends on the position they play! if you are a WR, KR, PR, RB, CB, S you need to be fast. that means no water weight at all. its like carrying a gallon of water while you run…if you are a lineman, or LB.. you probably wont mind the water weight.. you just want the pure strength.” He finished by saying, “Having said all that the cycle for them during the season would be HGH 4 iu's per day. That’s it. legal and they can afford. in the offseason if they are bulking a 3 week cycle of dbol 30mg's. (players in the NFL are warned ahead of time when they are gonna get tested, plenty of time to get it out of their system).”
A few answers I got that were laid out in cycle form included the following:
“maxwkw”
I think that the cycle would be the duration of the off season.
1g of test
3-4iu of HGH
250mg deca (for joints)
anadrol or var (depending on position)
“Hesnobradpitt”
1-4 ,T-bol 60mg ed
1-10 ,prop 100ed
1-8 , tren A 75 ed
6-10 , var 100ed
GHRP-6
GRF MOD 1-29
GH 4iu ed
GHRP/GRF: 100/50mcgs 3x per day workout days and 2x per day off days
“BigAndy69”
Something like this:
test prop 100mg EOD
tren 75mg EOD
anavar 50mg ED
winny 50mg ED
Test suspension 50mg shot before training
Growth hormone 4-5ius ED or 8-10ius EOD
“moya”
100mg test suspension ed
50mg tren suspension ed
20mg halo ed
There were quite a few other responses to the perfect NFL cycle question, including some that I cut short. If you’d like to see them all, check out the forum thread here.
As for the players themselves, I think that you can expect to see many of them looking faster and more ripped than ever due to the increased time off. Maybe some of the veterans will even be able to heal their injuries, and put on a little extra muscle since they can juice without looking over their shoulder. In any case, I just hope that the lockout ends soon so I don’t have to worry about missing any games or major trades that could happen this offseason….or at least what’s left of the offseason.
