Obviously football players aren't lifting to be bodybuilders since they don't concentrate on symmetry so much. In fact, there are some pretty out of shape football players running around the field. But there are also some really ripped players who could even rival some bodybuilders.
When I think of the most ripped NFL players, the Minnesota Vikings' Adrian Peterson definitely comes to mind. Peterson is 6'1", 217 with barely any body fat on him. As ripped as he is, it's no wonder why he is the NFL's top running back since he runs a 4.4 forty yard dash too.
San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is another NFL player who is pretty jacked. Davis stands 6'3" and weighs 250 pounds with pretty much all of it muscle. Davis is perhaps the NFL's best athlete too since he runs a 4.38 forty, which is unheard of for a guy this size.
Vernon Gholston looks the most like a bodybuilder out of any NFL player. The Jets' linebacker is 6'3", 264 pounds and he looks even bigger than his weight suggests. Unfortunately, all of his size hasn't translated into a lot of results on the field yet.
Tampa Bay running back Michael Pittman is one more NFL player who looks like he could step off the football field and onto the competition stage. The 6-foot, 225 pound Pittman has 23" inch biceps and bench presses around 500 pounds. He is also obsessed with taking supplements.
