Just about anytime you see a person go down for selling hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gear, they are middle-aged men who have been in the business of dealing for a long time. Echter, 20 year-old Kyle Brendl broke the mold big-time when he was recently apprehended for having over $250,000 worth of steroids.
Chasing after girls, pimping their rides, playing video games, and deciding their futures are the things that make up the lives of most 20 year-old guys these days. It’s actually what has dominated the average 20 year-old man’s life for the past few decades as I can remember myself being wrapped up in the same stuff at that age. And I wouldn’t have had it any other way as being 20 was one of the best and most carefree times of my life.

Kyle Bredl was a steroid dealer, and a major one at that who had mastered the ins and outs of obtaining, packaging, and processing steroids. He was making thousands of dollars in short amounts of time by dealing steroid throughout the central Wisconsin area both personally and through the mail. Package after package, deal after deal, Bredl was slowly building himself quite an empire. He was making way more cash than most people twice his age and with only some light work involved on his part.
But the problem with Bredl’s operation was that he just couldn’t stop doing what he was doing. With every sale that he made, Kyle was bringing in more easy money and the risks involved seemed to escape his train of thought. Authorities would later echo this sentiment by saying that he probably got into a comfort zone with his steroid operation as he was able to get away with dealing gear over and over again.
For Kyle Bredl, things were becoming too easy for him as he was getting cocky with his deals. He relied heavily on using the U.S. Postal Service to mail his drugs because, unlike private shipping companies, de U.S.. Postal Service doesn’t open packages. But the Marshfield, Wisconsin resident’s luck would soon run out though as some undercover agents caught onto his game. Police officers set up a few deals with Bredl in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Stevens Point and another deal in Marshfield. Over $10,000 worth of steroids were exchanged before authorities finally arrested Bredl after the third Stevens Point meeting.
After the arrest was made, police searched his vehicle and confiscated priority mail boxes and four bottles of steroids. The searches didn’t stop here though as police also obtained a warrant to check out Bredl’s Marshfield home where they made a shocking discovery. His home contained what was believed to be over $120,000 worth of anabolic steroids.
But after sifting through the steroid capsules, vloeistoffen, and powders, authorities determined that the large amount of gear was worth twice what it was originally thought to be. At $250,000, the amount of roids found in Bredl’s home made it the biggest steroid finds in the central Wisconsin area.
Some of the steroids found included Stanozolo, Oxymetholone Oxymetholone, and Methandrostenolone. There were also quite a few packaging and processing materials found as well. After finding these substances, Bredl was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and intent to deliver a controlled substance.
After the bust, police say that Bredl’s operation could have expanded well beyond the boundaries of just central Wisconsin. Marshfield Police Chief Joe Stroik stated that, "He was getting it from quite a distance. He certainly could have been selling it to anywhere in the United States or further."
Kyle Bredl revealed that most of the steroids he was getting were coming from Asian countries such as China. He also told an officer that he was able to consistently get his packages without drawing any suspicion from the authorities. What he didn’t tell the officer was that his operation extended even farther than what was originally thought.
It is now believed that Bredl was a major supplier of anabolic drugs to not only users, but to other dealers as well. This was uncovered after the apprehension of a 22 year-old Plover, Wisconsin man named Ryan Dockter. Like Bredl, Dockter was also busted after selling anabolic steroids to an undercover officer. But the link between the two goes even farther than just this.

Court records state that Dockter was selling steroids to the undercover officer in two different parking lots in the village of Plover. While the roids sold had a street value of $3100, Dockter told the officer that he could easily obtain more and even said that he could get as much gear as the undercover authority needed. And how was this possible for a man from the tiny town of Plover, Wisconsin? Because Dockter had Bredl backing him as a supplier and as we now know, Kyle Bredl was loaded with steroids.
Now both face the possibility of making the grim trip to prison after their pursuit of easy money ended very badly. And the bad part for Bredl is that his felony charges may keep coming as authorities continue to investigate this central Wisconsin steroid ring. It seems strange that in this rural, unassuming part of Wisconsin that we may have a huge steroid scandal on the horizon. I know that I’ll be interested to see how it ends!
