I'm always seeing these advertisements for those fitness shoes that firm women's butts. And these ads are definitely working too since women are paying anywhere from $120 - $200 just to buy a pair of these shoes. All of this got me to wondering whether or not these shoes really work or not. And I'm hoping for my sake, as well as for every guy out there, that these shoes do accomplish their job of making a woman's butt look better.
While looking into this, I found out that the "secret" to the shoes is that they have an unstable sole, which forces the body to recruit extra leg and butt muscles into helping keep the body stable. The shoes seemed legit thus far into my research.
However, I also came across some research from a Swedish scientist by the name of Nerrolyn Ramstrand who says unstable shoes have been used for years for physical therapy. And while they do provide a little help, there is little evidence that they can have dramatic results on how toned a woman's butt is. In fact, many of these shoes can be considered unsafe when used for activities like running and jumping.
If a female really wants to improve her butt's shape, she needs to do squats and lunges to firm up. It's just another case of people needing to do the work in the gym rather than relying on some gimmicky shoes. I haven't fully looked into the design of each shoe though, so maybe there's a chance that some of them to produce pretty good results.
