Clenbuterol is by far one of the most popular weight loss drugs out there. A huge reason why is because Clenbuterol (a.k.a. Clen) has been used by Hollywood's elite to burn fat quickly. Celebrities such as Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Victoria Beckham have made headlines for losing substantial amounts of weight through suspected Clen cycles. Of course, anybody who's into bodybuilding probably isn't looking for a body like Britney or Lohan.
But that's certainly not to say bodybuilders and professional athletesdon't use Clen as well. In fact, a number of athletes have been suspended after testing positive for this weight loss drug. San Francisco Giants pitcher Guillermo Mota was suspended for 50 games for using Clen, cyclist Alberto Contador was hit with a two-year suspension and Mexican boxer Erik Morales was also suspended for two years
Because this drug is banned by professional and collegiate sports leagues, and due to its side effects (discussed later), I certainly don't condone Clenbuterol for human use.
Now, because this is such an intriguing drug, let's cover how Clen works, why it's so effective at burning fat, the side effects, if it's safe for women and recommended dosage.
How Clenbuterol promotes Extreme Fat Loss as well as Muscle Gain
Clenbuterol (or Clenbuterol Hydrochloride) was originally developed to treat chronic breathing disorders such as asthma. And while Clen is still widely prescribed for breathing disorders, this drug has gained even more popularity for its fat-burning capabilities.
A Beta 2 antagonist, Clen increases your body temperature and metabolic activity, thus enabling you to burn more calories. This drug is especially effective at helping test subjects shed undesirable abdominal and visceral fat because it promotes using stored body fat as energy. Many people also experience decreased appetite during a Clenbuterol cycle, which further contributes to weight loss.
An additional benefit of Clen is that it has anabolic properties. Sure, these anabolic properties are pretty mild compared to bodybuilding bulking drugs, however, athletes may pack on some muscle through a Clen cycle. One more potential benefit of this drug is that it has the ability to improve oxygen transportation and overall aerobic capacity.
Clenbuterol Side Effects
Many countries have outlawed the use of Clen because of its potentially severe side effects. The negative effects include cardiovascular problems, headaches, high blood pressure, muscle tremors, nausea,profuse sweating and vomiting. These side effects are often the most severe within the first few days of a cycle.
Obviously athletes would appreciate avoiding, or at least minimizing, high blood pressure, heavy sweating and vomiting all over the floor. So pay special attention to the dosage section below. Also keep in mind that the effects can vary from one person to the next.
Can Female Test Subjects use this Drug Effectively?
As alluded to with the previous celebrity discussion, women also use Clen. And one reason why is because this drug doesn't have the androgenic side effects of some steroids like promoting facial hair, deepening of the voice and thickening of the skin.
Clenbuterol Dosage and Cycling
A good starting point for beginning Clen users is 20mcgs per day. From here, you can increase the dosage by 20mcgs as the cycle progresses. But it's highly important that you don't exceed 120 mcgs to 140 mcgs/day because this is when side effects can become really dangerous. Experienced male users often use anywhere from 60 mcgs to 140 mcgs per day in a cycle, while females normally use between 40 mcgs and 120 mcgs/day.
As for cycling, optimal Clenbuterol usage often involves a 2-day on and 2-day off, or 3-week on and 3-week off cycle. In some cases, test subjects won't see many benefits beyond two weeks of using Clen. Also, bodybuilders and athletes often eat lots of bananas and/or potassium tablets while using this drug because it can deplete natural potassium, thus leading to muscle cramps.
