It's safe to say that most people have lost considerable interest in the whole BALCO scandal. After all, the case happened over six years ago and was discussed to death in the media. However, there are still a few loose ends that need to be tied up in this case.
One of these loose ends is the fate of Barry Bonds, who will finally have his trial for perjury tomorrow. Bonds is accused of obstructing justice and lying to a federal jury. These charges could land Bonds in prison for 10 years, although he is expected to receive a far smaller sentence if convicted.
Olympic track coach Trevor Graham and cyclist Tammy Thomas - both former BALCO clients - only received 1 year of home confinement for similar charges to Bonds. So as long as Bonds comes clean (or is proven guilty), he could avoid any major jail time.
