Nobody is going to accuse Arnold Schwarzenegger of looking like a superhero now. In fact, he looks a lot more like the 63-year-old man who spent a rough 8 years in the California Governor's office than anything. But he definitely looked like a superhero in his bodybuilding prime, which is a big reason why he is getting his own cartoon.
Comic book geek and Spiderman co-creator Stan Lee is set to work on a new cartoon featuring Schwarzenegger called the Governator. The cartoon name is a take-off on the nickname that Arnold was given in office, and it's set to be released in 2012.
Arnold is excited about the cartoon as he said, “When I ran for governor back in 2003 and I started hearing people talking about ‘the Governator,’ I thought the word was so cool,” He finished by saying, “The word Governator combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world. And [this cartoon] brings everything together. It combines the governor, the Terminator, the bodybuilding world, the ‘True Lies’"
Lee also commented on the cartoon by saying, “We’re using his wife [Maria Shriver.] We’re using his kids. We’re using the fact that he used to be governor. Only after he leaves the governor’s office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house in Brentwood.”
I have to admit that it will be exciting to see how this cartoon plays out when it hits television in 2012.
