Studies have shown that 70% of men look up porn at least a few times every month. This of course means that 30% of men lie about not looking up porn on a monthly basis. Seriously though, it's pretty hard to find a red-blooded male who doesn't jump online to check out porn sometimes, outside of a few monks living in isolation. And that's probably just because they can't get good internet access in their mountaintop monasteries.
Most guys who look up sexy pics and videos consider this to be a pretty harmless habit. And it certainly can be if you're not overdoing things by masturbating like a fiend, three times a day. Moreover, there are some excellent health benefits to masturbating (or sex), such as improving your mood, building your immunity, helping you last longer during sex, and preventing cancer by flushing out disease-causing toxins from your urogenital tract.
Moving along, some people look at the cyber world as the perfect way to live out kinky, unrealistic and/or embarrassing fantasies that they may have. For example, the chick who's sporting natural DD's and a 26" waist...she's waiting online for you. Or how about a fantasy some dude may have about being tied up and whipped by a dominatrix? Well, he no longer has to reveal this odd desire to his girlfriend because the internet can make this dream come true. Ever thought about seeing two girls go at it while you watch, but never had the game to pull it off? The only game you need now involves typing words into a search engine and clicking your mouse a few times.
As you can see, internet porn makes finding what you want and getting off extremely easy. But while this may provide some temporary satisfaction, developing a daily porn/masturbation habit is likely to kill your libido and drain your testosterone. And when you can't get an erection and perform for your lady, things start to get weird. In fact, in a poll on Elite Fitness, over 50% of the Elite Fitness.com members surveyed, masturbate two or more times per day! Here’s a link to see the poll results: POLL: How many times per day do you masturbate and/or have sex?
Good luck trying to land a girlfriend when you've still got a soft penis after an hour of foreplay. You might as well bring a strapon to your next date. And if by some chance you manage to get in a relationship despite performance problems, the dilemma only worsens. First, your woman is going to think that she's not attractive enough. Next, she's going to start questioning if you have a problem. And when you finally admit that you've got a porn habit, it'll definitely make your relationship a struggle...if there still is one.
Luckily, there are some things that might help you still get an erection for your girl while you continue checking out those big Brazilian booties online. Taking ED medications or testosterone boosters like Test Stack No. 17 is always a good way to make sure that you've got enough libido. And there are several other tricks and habits you can do, which I'll discuss tomorrow in Part II of this series.
However, the best solution definitely lies in severely limiting the amount of porn you view. Now, you might say, "George, I've been touching my junk to porn every day for the past 8 years - how can I stop now!?"Well, there's no easy fix, but I find that one way to curb your habit is by understanding some of the ways that it kills your chances of a healthy relationship. My friend Dr. Field Farrar, creator of Test Stack No.17 recently explained to me three of the most prevalent negative side effects that men experience from over-watching porn. (Speaking of Dr. Farrar, I asked him to give me a Test Stack Coupon Code to send you guys later this week - and I think I am getting one.) Here's Dr. Farrar’s explanation of the three drawbacks to looking at porn on a too regular basis.
1. You get desensitized to Real Sexual Encounters
I can remember back to my middle school days, when merely looking at the bra section of a JC Penney's catalog was enough to get me rock hard. I'm sure that the rest of you can remember back to a time when getting an erection was as simple as looking at what you liked.
Unfortunately, we live in much more complicated times nowadays. There's nothing exciting about a Victoria's Secret catalog, or for some guys, even Playboy Magazine. Guys who watch an unhealthy amount of porn often need a lot more to turn them on - both on the internet and in real life. I pray that nobody reading this is so far gone that they need to see chicks peeing their pants to get aroused. But even something as light as constantly looking up women with big boobs can desensitize you to the act of sex.
Whether you've got a fetish or just keep watching regular porn, always seeking this type of stimulation has disastrous consequences for any real sexual encounters that you may have. Men who watch an excessive amount of porn over-stimulate their body's dopamine, the neurochemical that serves as the force behind our most sinful desires. As writer and clinical psychologist Vaughan Bell put it, this is the "Kim Kardashian" of neurotransmitters.
So next time that you're watching Kardashian's sex tape or lusting after a two naked girls jumping on a trampoline together, you can blame your dopamine. But just don't make a habit of blaming dopamine because, whether it be sex, porn, drugs or gambling, it's up to the individual to avoid continually giving in to this brain chemical.
Unfortunately, many porn addicts become slaves to their dopamine. When they look up porn all the time, their libido is constantly stimulated and their dopamine reaction becomes numb, meaning it takes newer and ever weirder experiences to get aroused. Think drug addicts who crave stronger drugs to keep getting the same high that they got in the beginning.
2. You become used to getting off the Same Way Every Time
A lot of guys who frequently masturbate to porn are in for a nasty surprise when they finally get a girl in the bedroom - they can't get hard! This often leaves you needing lots of foreplay just to get a semi-hard penis. Some men don't develop any erection at all because they start to feel anxiety and stress when trying to get aroused around a woman. The immediate reaction is to think that you've got an erectile dysfunction problem. And the quick fix is to buy generic Viagra from India or reach for a testosterone booster like Test Stack No.17.
As I alluded to before, using testosterone boosters or ED medications can definitely help you out in the bedroom - especially if you're looking to get rock hard and stay that way for a long time. But for some guys, even the best supplements and prescription-based drugs may not be enough to cover it. And the reason why is because their body has become so used to ejaculating the same way every time.
For many guys, this involves getting off with their right hand over and over again. Assuming you've been looking up porn and doing this almost every day - sometimes multiple times a day - for years, it's a pretty hard habit to kick. So when a woman is stroking you, giving you a blowjob, or you've actually managed to get hard enough for penetration, it's not going to provide nearly as much sensation.
The end result is that your partner can't do it the same way that you've been masturbating for years, in terms of both feel and speed. Then your wife or girlfriend quickly begins to realize that you not getting off during sex, or even building an erection at all, is a continual theme. From here, you can either try masturbating with your other hand, abstaining from both sex and masturbation for a good long while, or asking your partner to jack you off while watching porn. The latter suggestion is just awkward and could potentially send your intimacy problems further into the abyss.
3. You Ejaculate Too Much
The third and most obvious reason why obsessing about porn can ruin your sex life is that you're releasing too frequently. Sure, guys who are 100% into real sex can orgasm multiple times during intercourse - some lucky bastards can do this just minutes apart. But the average male experiences a much longer refractory period, or the time frame where it's physiologically impossible for him to orgasm again, no matter how turned on he might be. For some of the unluckier dudes out there, this refractory period can last for days.
If you're already dealing with the first two problems that we discussed, ejaculating once or more to porn on a daily basis is the death knell to properly satisfying a woman. You'll be going through a refractory period on top of being desensitized to the naked girl right in front of you. I know that I already mentioned this before, but you might want to just consider wearing a strapon under your jeans.
But before taking this extreme route or keeping a dildo on your bedside table, there are some more reasonable fixes to try. Again, you could use an ED medication or Test Stack No.17. And there are some natural things that you can do as well, which I'll cover in Part II of this series. But as for now, just know that it's highly unlikely that you have early-onset ED. Instead, the more likely scenario is that you're suffering from one of the porn-related problems that we just discussed.
