Today, EliteFitness.com had a chat with Peter Larson, a.k.a. Peterlumberjack on the EF bodybuilding forums. Peter is a Fitness Challenge Bodybuilding Competition finalist, Platinum Member, and new friend of mine. What is so remarkable about Peter is that during the 90 day Fitness Challenge, Peter not only gained significantly more muscle mass, but he also lost body fat and got much more defined. And we all know how hard it is to get bigger and more defined at the same time.
For more about Peter's transformation, here are the links to His Training Log and His Gallery.
Here's how Peter looked on Miami Beach the day of our photoshoot (with lots more pics below):
We interviewed Peter after the contest weekend in Miami Beach and we have the interview and a selection of his after pics below. But first, take a look at his starting pic:
Peter Larson Transformation competitor Interview:
EliteFitness.com: So, I know voting hasn't started yet, but how does it feel to be one of the two finalists in the first ever George Spellwin's Fitness Challenge Bodybuilding Competition?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: It's an honor
EliteFitness.com: How do you like Miami Beach?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Beautiful. I've never been any place like it before. The women and the weather are ridiculous.
EliteFitness.com: How did you like the Mondrian Hotel in Miami Beach where we put you up?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: That place is crazy. Everything in that building is over the top. And dang their pool party on Sundays is crazy!!
EliteFitness.com: You and Cody shared an amazing suite at the luxurious Mondrian Hotel in Miami Beach. What was it like living with him for the weekend?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Awesome, Cody is a cool and knowledgeable dude. It was nice to be go through the depletion/contest prep process together.
EliteFitness.com: So you got along?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Yea, absolutely. We have a lot of things in common and had some good discussions about training principles and supplementation
EliteFitness.com: Do you think you will keep in touch?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Yes, we've already had several texts back and forth.
EliteFitness.com: Had you ever done a photoshoot before?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Nope
EliteFitness.com: What did you think of all the prep work, shaving, trying on clothes, practicing posing, spray tanning?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: I loath the water depletion and dehydration process, its truly a miserable experience. Practicing posing was very informational. GS and Rick had tons of valuable input. Shaving is something i could do without. I cut my self several times, but it does make a huge difference. Spray tanning is okay... But, apparently it gives you zero protection from the sun.
EliteFitness.com: Had you ever worn posing trunks before?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Nope
EliteFitness.com: What did you think of that?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: I Did not care for it. But the pictures are okay, so whatever
EliteFitness.com: What did you think of the shoot itself? How was the location?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: The shoot was very different from what I thought it would be. It was extremely relaxing and almost fun. The location was awesome. Incredible weather and scenery.
EliteFitness.com: How did you like the photographer Jim Maxwell?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Jim was very professional and passionate about his work, he was easy to relax around
EliteFitness.com: What was it like working with Jacqueline Suzanne?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: It was refreshing how genuine and nice she was.
EliteFitness.com: Was it intimidating working with her?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Yes
EliteFitness.com: All in all, how would you summarize your first photoshoot experience?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Rewarding
EliteFitness.com: What was it like getting to meet George?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: An honor
EliteFitness.com: And what was it like drinking champagne after the shoot with George, Rick, and Jacqueline?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: It was Surreal.
EliteFitness.com: What about dinner that night at Texas de Brazil? Were you hungry after dieting for so long?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Amazing. yes, i was very hungry and unfortunately tired.
EliteFitness.com: Was the food good? And the company?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Yes, it was probably the best meal i've ever had. I had some great conversations over dinner. I learned so much this trip.
EliteFitness.com: Were you sad when it was all over and you had to leave to go home?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Yes, i was ripping up the pool party until the last minute. It was great to be able to see a type of area i've never been exposed to. It really opens your eyes.
EliteFitness.com: What did you think the experience was going to be like and how did it compare in reality?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: The experience far exceeded my expectations. Even better than what I thought the best case scenario to be.
EliteFitness.com: You know, even if you place second, and do not get the top prize of $3500, you still win $2000 that has to feel good. Right?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Definitely!
EliteFitness.com: Where do you hope this experience takes you?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: I don't know. I learned so much throughout this process. I feel like i have a lot to offer and would love to help others reach their goals. I hope to stay motivated and see what happens. "always chase the rabbit down the hole."
EliteFitness.com: Will you come back next year and help us with next year's finalists?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Yes!
EliteFitness.com: Any final thoughts?
Fitness Challenge Finalist Peter: Thank you EF. We're all so lucky that a site this informative exists. Its a great place where we can all learn from each other.
